Superior Avenue Baptist Church

Our Story

At Superior Avenue Baptist Church, you will find a group of warm, caring people who have been meeting together since 1920.  The church  was organized on November 14, 1920 with 25 charter members.  The church first met for worship at the Superior Avenue School building until 1922 when a place of worship was constructed on the corner of Superior Avenue and Sabine Street.  Educational space was added to the church in 1927.  ​

A long range building program was adopted in 1949 that resulted in our current education space completed in 1955 with the Sanctuary completed in time for Christmas Eve service in 1960.

​For over 100 years, Superior Avenue Baptist Church has answered God's call to share the Gospel to the people of Bogalusa, Washington Parish, the State of Louisiana, our nation, and the world.  Superior Avenue Baptist Church is affiliated with the Washington Baptist Association, the Louisiana Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
